Established in December 2008, Bureti Technical Training Institute began offering TVET programmes in may 2015. Currently there are 38 programmes offered in four academic departments namely: Engineering, Agriculture, Business and ICT.

Today, the Institute has more than 1,800 trainees pursuing studies in Artisan, Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma levels. More learning facilities have been put in place to ensure the Institute provides technical skills to the trainees, under an experienced team of trainers totaling to 50. On the other hand the administrative staff numbers 26 bringing total staff to 76, serving at the Institute for attainment of vision 2030 set by the government.

The Institute targets to be a center of excellence in Engineering and Agricultural Studies.
