About Course

Applied Optics includes study of the interaction of laser radiation with various materials, such as carbon fibre composites, stainless steel, archaeological and biological materials. It is an emerging science that involve the use of light, in exploring laser technology applicable in laboratories, manufacturing, medicine, telecommunication, military and research.

 This programme seeks to produce graduates who are conversant in the physics of lasers and their applications.

Qualification Required

To qualify for admission to this programme, candidates must meet any of the following minimum requirements:

1. “O” Level / KCSE Mean Grade of C+ with a minimum of C+ in Physics and Mathematics
2. “A” Level two principle passes and one subsidiary pass
3. Relevant diploma from a recognized institution
