About Course

This program trains and educates youths and adults in hairdressing and beauty therapy in order to improve the quality and competitiveness of the workforce in the hair and beauty industry.

The program adopts the competence-based concept of training, with a balance between theoretical and practical approaches in delivering knowledge and skills.

This certificate is the beginning of a career in hairdressing, salon management, and cosmetic entrepreneurship an industry that is ever-changing and has no boundaries to success.

This course will train students to alter and care for people's hair, skin, and nails. This course will also provide students with various business skills, such as retail sales, entrepreneurship, and management, preparing graduates to start their own businesses or become salon managers.

Qualification Required

The Minimum Entry Requirements are:

• KCPE Certificate, or;
• Equivalent qualification approved by KNEC.

At the end of this course students will be equipped with the relevant skills in cosmetology i.e., hair dressing / hair cutting, plaiting, highlighting, hair styling and coloring, skin and nail care (manicure/pedicures).
